American Muslim Health Professionals (AMHP) created two unique advocacy resources for individuals who would like to engage in healthcare advocacy efforts or deliver sermons encouraging congregants to participate in advocacy. AMHP is very grateful to Penny Appeal USA for providing the funds necessary to create these two valuable resources. We hope to inspire our members and the Muslim community in general to be more engaged in advocacy efforts by increasing awareness on current issues.

  • Healthcare Advocacy Khutbah Guide: the Advocacy Khutbah Guide is a compilation of talking points, hadeeth, and Quranic verses to encourage American Muslim congregants to speak up about issues that impact public health and access to healthcare. The weekly Friday Sermon is an important opportunity for congregants to learn about how they can put their faith into practice and therefore provides an ideal venue for delivering a call to action around advocacy. The Guide contains topic areas for three Khutbahs with corresponding subtopics and talking points. The Guide was reviewed by scholars and healthcare activists
