Faisal Qazi, DO

Dr. Faisal Qazi is the President of American Muslim Health Professionals (AMHP) and practicing neurologist in Southern California. He has been extensively engaged on issues of health reform and established AMHP's Task Force on Health Affordability, formalizing AMHP's ongoing work in this area.  He has recently promoted the idea of a Muslim Free Clinics Council (MFCC), a loose association of established and emerging charitable health institutions across the country.

Dr. Qazi has been engaged in a number of non-profit initiatives in the community.  He was the founder and the first CEO of HUDA (Health Unit on Davison Avenue) Free Clinic in Detroit.  He serves on the board of Open Doors Now, an autism education and advocacy organization in Rancho Cucamonga, CA and is an Adviosr to the Epilepsy Center in Riverside, CA. 

He completed his residency training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and subsequently an Epilepsy Fellowship at University of California-San Diego.  He was named one of the Best Doctors of Inland Empire in 2008.  His interests include Islamic Neuroethics and he is a member of the Neuroethics Society.

Dr. Qazi is a guest columnist for San Bernardino Sun on healthcare issues and his work has been featured on NPR, Voice of America, CNN and PBS Health Journal.  Dr. Qazi can be reached at fqazi@amhp.us.
