Health Promotion

AMHP seeks to improve the physical and mental health of communities by empowering community leaders through focused training seminars and elevating successful models. AMHP activities in this area span a range of key areas, including mental health, obesity, disability rights, and more. AMHP has been an active participant in the First Lady’s Let’s Move campaign.

Mental Health

AMHP aspires to be a leader in improving public health through efforts inspired by Islamic tradition, in three distinct ways: (1) professional development of Muslims across health professions (2) health education and community outreach (3) state and national advocacy on issues of access and awareness. LEARN MORE

EnabledMuslim

EnabledMuslim, a project of American Muslim Health Professionals (AMHP), is an online community for spiritual and practical support for Muslims with disabilities and their loved ones. EnabledMuslim provides Muslims with access to relevant information about their situation and the ability to connect and sustain long-lasting relationships with others who have similar experiences. Goal: To educate and advocate for healthy lifestyles and disease prevention. Health Education topics are covered on AMHP’s community blog. AMHP also participated in First Lady, Michelle Obama’s, Let’s Move! healthy initiative involving hundreds of Muslims in on the challenge.
