Saima Khan, MBA, MHSA

Saima Khan first became involved with AMHP as a member in 2004, and has recently joined the National Board in 2010.  

Saima has 8 years of work experience.  She earned a Masters in Health Services Administration (M.H.S.A) and a Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Xavier University, in Cincinnati, Ohio and also holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.  She most recently became a certified Six Sigma Blackbelt in 2008.  She currently works as an internal Performance Improvement Consultant for Healthfirst, a large health insurance company in New York City.   Her most recent projects have included corporate-wide program implementations, qualitative root cause analysis and trending, business process redesign, strategic planning with executive leadership, process improvements, and lean events.  Prior to working in New York City, Saima worked for TriHealth, a large health system in Cincinnati, Ohio as a Business Analyst in the department for Performance Improvement and Consulting, and as a Program Manager in the department of SeniorLink, a Medicare program focused on providing home-based healthcare to seniors. 

Saima also currently serves as the Vice President of CAMP – New York Chapter (Council for the Advancement of Muslim Professionals), and has been recognized as a Muslim Leader of Tomorrow (MLT) in 2009.  She actively coordinates and volunteers her time to various community service projects, including soup kitchens, park clean-up efforts, and fundraising for food pantries.  Saima is also an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and the American Society for Quality (ASQ).
