Sameer Siddiqi

Sameer Siddiqi is the Project Manager of the American Muslim Health Professionals’ Task Force on Health Policy. Sameer is currently in his final semester at University of Houston, where is pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Biology. In 2010, he served as a Kaiser Family Foundation Barbara Jordan Health Policy Scholar and Legislative Fellow in the Office of Congressman John Lewis, where he worked on obesity prevention legislation and Medicare disparities. Prior to that, Sameer worked in the City of Houston Mayor’s Office of Health and Environmental Policy under Mayor Bill White. He is currently employed as a Research Assistant at the Texas Obesity Research Center, where he designs and manages technologically innovative obesity prevention and control interventions. He has also been actively involved in electorally organizing American Muslims within the Greater Houston area. His interests are centered on the planning and implementation of environmental health, prevention and minority disparity policies.
